Dr. Julius Cosmas (PhD)

Is a Senior Lecturer in Law and serves as the Deputy Principal Academic, Research and Consultancy at IJA since November 2025.

He holds an LLB degree from the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM), LLM from Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and LLD from the University of the Western Cape (South Africa).

His area of specialisation is Investment and Trade Law in which he has vastly published articles and book chapters.

Currently he also serve as a part time lecturer at the Law School of Tanzania (LST) and External Examiner to LLM and PhD candidates to various universities including University of the Western Cape, St. Augustine University of Tanzania, Mzumbe University just to mention a few.

Dr. Cosmas is a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts thereto since 2008.
